the oDD THING

Furniture that tells a story

The clue is in the name. We take odd, unloved, sad looking furniture and transform it into unique, one-of-a-kind finds. Pieces you’re proud to display in your home that make all your friends a little bit jealous!

Furniture upcycling

The Odd Thing designs, makes, upcycles and upholsters furniture from our studio in Warrington, Cheshire. Environmental responsibility is at the heart of our creative process. We save furniture and home accessories from landfill and bring them back to life – making items desirable all over again – whilst being mindful of our impact on the environment.

Handcrafted furniture design

We design and make one-off pieces from scratch. An eye for unusual, innovative design coupled with the highest level of craftsmanship, care and attention make all our pieces stand out from the crowd.

If you’re an interior designer looking to commission the perfect piece for your client, or an individual who wants something a bit different for your home, please contact us to discuss your brief.

I love taking an idea from seed to construction and saving items from landfill in the process. Seeing the reaction from the customer when they see their piece for the first time makes it all worthwhile.

Every piece came to us unwanted and unloved or is one of our original designs. We’ve either upcycled the item or used the materials to create something unique and interesting. Most importantly, we’ve saved them all from landfill.
